Whether you’re hosting a haunting gathering or simply enjoying the festive decorations, it’s essential to keep your rental home tidy during and after the celebrations.

Be sure to remove decorations carefully.  If you used tape or adhesive, be cautious to avoid peeling paint or damaging surfaces. Use a damp cloth to wipe down areas that may have collected dust or residue from decorations.  Make sure to vacuum carpets and floors to pick up any fallen leaves, glitter, or small decoration pieces that may have scattered around.  Lastly for the inside cleanup, if you had food or drinks at your Halloween party, inspect for any spills or stains on carpets or furniture and treat them promptly.

If you have decorated outside, remove any dirt or debris before storing your decor. This will help maintain their condition for next year.  Once cleaned, store your decorations in plastic bins to protect them from moisture and pests. Label the bins for easy access next Halloween.  If you carved pumpkins, remember to dispose of them properly to avoid unpleasant odors.  After all decorations are down, take a moment to insure everything is back in its original state, then sweep your porch and walkways to ensure they are clear of any leftover materials that could pose a tripping hazard.
